Arlington, VA – The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) issued the following statement regarding the implementation of import tariffs on goods from trade partners in Mexico, Canada and China:
U.S. consumers expect quality, affordable food that is available year-round. Broad-based increases in import tariffs will result in higher costs to both make and purchase the products that are essential for people across the country.
AFFI urges the United States to work with trade partners to develop policies that promote the flow of goods in a global marketplace and benefit U.S. consumers, while still meeting the trade priorities of the Trump administration.
