Dr. Donald Schaffner's research interests include handwashing, cross-contamination and quantitative microbial risk assessment. He has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications and educated thousands of food industry professionals around the world. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists, the American Academy of Microbiology and International Association for Food Protection (IAFP). He has served as an Editor for Applied and Environmental Microbiology since 2005. Dr. Schaffner was the president of IAFP in 2013-2014. In his spare time, he co-hosts the Food Safety Talk podcast.
Director of Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance, Testo Solutions North America Eric Moore, is the Director of Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance at Testo North America. Eric has been a proactive leader in improving food safety programs at multiple industry-leading food service and retail organizations. Currently, Eric provides organizational leadership guidance as the food safety subject matter expert for Testo North America, and oversees all aspects of compliance and regulatory policy.
Dr. Donna Garren
Executive Vice President, Science & Policy American Frozen Food Institute Dr. Donna Garren has extensive background and expertise in food safety, food science, nutrition and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining AFFI, Dr. Garren was the President and General Manager for NSF Agriculture (formerly NSF Davis Fresh), a business unit of NSF International. Dr. Garren has also held senior food safety and health positions with The Consumer Goods Forum, National Restaurant Association and United Fresh Produce Association.
