She began her career in DC in corporate wellness, moving to the National Academies to work on the Dietary Reference Intakes. Her next endeavor focused on conducting health professional- and consumer-research and incorporating findings into communications on a variety of nutrition topics at the International Food Information Council. Immediately before creating Nutrition On Demand, Shelley led communications for the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate at USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion and built the USDA/CNPP Nutrition Communicators Network partnership program from the ground up.
