The incoming Biden Administration will have a narrow majority in the House of Representatives and an evenly divided Senate with Vice President-Elect Harris holding the tie-breaking vote. This will give President-Elect Biden more opportunities to advance his legislative agenda, which could include further Coronavirus stimulus packages, new tax policies, expanding healthcare access, raising the federal minimum wage, and addressing climate change. While major legislation will still require 60 votes in the evenly divided Senate, the political calculus in Washington has shifted.
