New Food Safety Training Focuses on Listeria Control

By: AFFI President and CEO Alison Bodor

Last month marked another important milestone in AFFI’s commitment to advance food safety practices throughout the frozen supply chain. AFFI, in partnership with the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI), launched a Listeria Control Specialist certificate program for food safety management. The curriculum for this certificate program is based on AFFI’s Listeria Control Program© – bringing our best food safety practices aimed at Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) prevention and control to fruition.

Participants who complete the five-course certificate program will be formally recognized as an expert, designated to control Lm within their facilities. Others who may benefit from participating in these courses include regulatory officials, sanitation and quality professionals, construction and maintenance contractors, or anyone who would like to learn how to control Lm in food manufacturing facilities.

The program is not specific to frozen food facilities so anyone who manages sanitary operations in food manufacturing settings will benefit – as will companies as they build a culture of food safety within their plants.

I encourage you and your company to build a culture of food safety within your facilities by participating in this program. Click here for more information and to register.
