Arlington, Va. – American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) President and CEO Alison Bodor today announced the addition of Dr. Lory Reveil as AFFI’s new Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs.
“I am pleased to welcome Dr. Lory Reveil as the newest addition to our team,” said Bodor. “Dr. Reveil’s background in microbiology and food safety will bolster our Scientific and Regulatory Affairs team as they continue to advance frozen food safety.”
Dr. Reveil who joined AFFI on Monday, February 3, earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from Cornell University and her Bachelor of Science from The University of New Mexico.
In her role as Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, Dr. Reveil will represent and be an advocate for the frozen food industry before federal regulatory agencies and engage with the food industry on important policy priorities.
“Lory’s research background in Listeria monocytogenes will complement AFFI’s scientific and regulatory affairs technical strengths and support AFFI’s food safety priorities,” said AFFI’s Executive Vice President of Science and Policy, Dr. Donna Garren.
In addition, AFFI promoted Dr. Sanjay Gummalla to the position of Senior Vice President of Scientific Affairs. Dr. Gummalla joined AFFI in 2015. He will continue to lead AFFI’s research to support frozen food manufacturers in making innovative food safety and operational decisions based in science.
