Arlington, VA – The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) welcomes the appointment of Jim Jones as the deputy commissioner for human foods with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
“As a member of the Reagan-Udall Foundation’s Independent Expert Panel that assessed the structure within FDA and recommended changes, Jim Jones brings an in-depth understanding of what is needed to create a transparent, prevention-focused and accountable human foods program,” said Dr. Donna Garren, AFFI Executive Vice President of Science and Policy. “AFFI is pleased to welcome him into this pivotal position at this critical point in the agency’s history and looks forward to working with him to advance an effective, risk-based food safety system that is protective of public health.”
